I headed up a team that was asked to brand AIGA Minnesota’s premier event, which also happens to be the largest regional design conference in the country. Design for designers for a big design-y gathering? No pressure. Once we put on the clean underwear our moms packed for us, we created all the marketing and event materials, branding the event around the center of any great camping experience: the campfire. (Short-sheeting our fellow campers' cots being a close second.) Through augmented reality, invitees could even toast digital marshmallows. We’d say we earned our badge on this one — the event sold out and had a significant increase in both AIGA Facebook and Twitter followers.
